Overview
The feature-length documentary "Za slovo ručím životem" captures the sometimes uncompromising stances of the internationally acclaimed Czech writer Radka Denemarková, as well as the accessibility of the themes in her work to an international audience. Denemarková regards her literary talent as a gift and sees the fight for the human dignity of those who would otherwise never be heard as her moral duty. Her novels, which reflect both our present and recent past – such as Hodiny z olova and Peníze od Hitlera – have been translated into twenty-five languages. Thanks to her natural charm, openness and unique sense of humour during book talks and award ceremonies, the author has gained admirers all over the world.
