Overview
Inside a smoky intergalactic jazz club, bounty hunter Spike Spiegel arrives while in communication with Faye Valentine. Guided by a discreet note from the bartender, Spike spots Dante—a powerful man associated with the Red Dragon syndicate—playing poker surrounded by associates. Trying to quietly steal Dante's wallet, Spike gets caught when a chain attached to the wallet stops him in his tracks. The tension immediately erupts into a fast-paced brawl involving Dante and his bodyguard. Just as Spike gains the upper hand, Faye enters the club, catching Spike and Dante in an awkward position on the floor.
