Top Critics Reviews

rotten:
The film never weaves together its various strands as tightly as the soundtrack does, and it's unlikely that those unfamiliar with the cultures of the Caribbean will understand where everyone is coming from.
– Denise Balkissoon,
Globe and Mail,
30 Sep 2016
rotten:
Fails to capture either the freewheeling, joyous spirit of the Caribbean or the heady euphoria of blossoming romance.
– Nick Schager,
Variety,
5 Aug 2016
fresh:
Pretty and upbeat, if insubstantial.
– Helen T. Verongos,
New York Times,
4 Aug 2016
