He has been nominated for 7 Emmys, 3 DGAs, and 1 CableACE Award. His son is writer/actor Dax Callner.Callner directed Bette Midler's HBO concert special Diva Las Vegas which first aired in 1997. Diva Las Vegas is now available on DVD.
