Statuesque Northern actor known for his Viking looks, David Nicholls was originally a rugby player with the Scarborough team before turning to acting and a variety of roles in films and TV. He died in 2008, an inquest hearing that his death came about 40 years after being exposed to asbestos in a car parts factory he worked at as a young man. more
