A sheltered, intelligent college student Doug changes his life forever when he hires an underachieving driver Scott. In order to escape his oppressively loving mother, Doug agrees to go on a spontaneous road trip with Scott and his college crush Stephanie. It's hard to enjoy a film peopled by so many unlikable people.

rotten:
This road is lined with cliches and blunt dialogue, the emotional shifts all too neatly underlined by Death Cab for Cutie tracks.

fresh:
The road-trip drama Who's Driving Doug is earnest but not overly sweet - a blessing for a film with built-in sentimentality traps.
