Overview
Set in a fantasy world inhabited by people with golden eyeballs, Por Puzhukkal (War Worms) follows two woodcutters who discover a luminous, valuable orb hidden inside a tree. What begins as an extraordinary discovery soon sets them on a perilous journey, as the orb becomes the center of their desires and choices. The film uses this fantastical setting to explore human greed and the destructive consequences of fighting over valuable resources. The tree, the source of the mysterious orb, represents nature and the resources humanity extracts from it. As the characters become consumed by the value of their discovery, their actions reveal how greed can turn people against one another, blinding them to the world that sustains them.
