Overview
Nine-year-old Samet is about to celebrate his circumcision as a rite of passage into manhood. But when the ceremonial wand goes missing, an ordinary scramble becomes a household crisis. While the men of the house race against time to protect their authority, Samet's mother Nesrin leads the women in a search for the missing wand and tries to hold the unraveling house together. As the day goes on, a quiet unspoken solidarity grows among the women.
