"Quitter" is assured and offhandedly sweet. And it's a relief from the easy pitches that define so many projects, big and small.
Overview

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes
Top critics, in their words
Remember when indie films starred normal people with average cheekbones and jawlines, inadequately lighted? Matthew Bonifacio's "The Quitter" is a return to that style, and a simple story well told.
As The Quitter progresses, Jonathan merely grows nicer and nicer, rendering the character's obligatory, runtime-padding third-act doubts false and unconvincing.
