Top Critics Reviews
fresh:
Atmosphere and nostalgia trump all in Pushkin-loving romance.

fresh:
What emerges is a hypnotic, strangely wistful and affecting portrait.
– Gary Goldstein,
Los Angeles Times,

rotten:
The film's emotional center rings coldly hollow, its star-crossed lovers coming off more like projected figures than flesh-and-blood players.
– Ronnie Scheib,
Variety,

rotten:
There's no sense that the film recognizes its own absurd elements.
– Tomas Hachard,

rotten:
The movie proves to be a fragile conceit. It's as likely to fall apart and cause frustration as it is to induce a reverie.
