The Crew is all contrivance and we don't believe a minute of it.
– Roger Ebert,
Chicago Sun-Times,

rotten:
At best, the film works like a geriatric version of The Sopranos. At it's worst, it's Cocoon with swearing and shootouts.
– Geoff Pevere,
Toronto Star,

rotten:
As entertaining as Ovaltine, it's a lead contender for worst movie of the year.
– Steve Murray,
Atlanta Journal-Constitution,
1 Jan 2000
rotten:
The Crew is cobbled together in desperate obedience to the widespread Hollywood fallacy that the more plot a movie has, the more people will like it.
– A.O. Scott,
New York Times,

rotten:
Tired, listless and anemic.
