Overview
This film takes a high-profile serial murder case as the entry point, exposes the harms of online trust crisis and domestic violence, and criticizes the plight of women under the male gaze. Pan Lei's desperate counterattack, working with criminal police and psychological experts to solve the case, demonstrates that justice requires the combined power of rationality and empathy. Beethoven's "Fate" runs through the whole film, and the ending "Nirvana of Light" makes it clear that the courage to confront the evil of human nature is the redemption that cuts through darkness.
