Part black comedy and part psychological study of one man’s growing alienation, The Exchange is an unhurried and absorbing film that is anchored by strong performances and beautifully-framed cinematography. Going back to his apartment one afternoon to retrieve something he forgot, PhD candidate Oded is fascinated by how different his home looks in the unfamiliar midday light. Desiring to see the world through new eyes, Oded slowly begins breaking his routine in the hope of viewing his life from new perspectives. While his increasingly eccentric behaviour is liberating, it also distances Oded from everything he cares about, especially his wife Tami.
