Overview
Eric Sigfrid Persson was one of Sweden’s foremost master builders and designers. His innovative, functionalist residential areas still leave their mark on his home city of Malmö. He was also the father of the now world-renowned designer Signe Persson-Melin and her younger brother, Sven Erik "Eke" Persson—an inventor and entrepreneur. To this day, the siblings' relationship remains profoundly shaped by their connection to their dominant and headstrong father. This is a fascinating family history and a chronicle of Swedish architecture, drawing largely on the unique personal archives of Eric Sigfrid Persson—the "King of Functionalism."
