Top Critics Reviews
fresh:
The depiction of high school band life rings true at every turn, bringing a sense of authenticity to the familiar teenage drama.

fresh:
It's a lot better than it sounds like it has any right to be.

rotten:
Lillard - an actor best-known for his role in "The Descendants" - uses the locations well enough, but the result is still a standard coming-of-age picture.
– John Hartl,
Seattle Times,

rotten:
The movie is achingly slow, and by the time it's over, the story is about where it should have been after about 45 minutes.

fresh:
Endearingly uneven.
