After a bull is killed in a bullfight, its body parts are transported across Spain, France, Italy and Belgium. The bull's parts fall into the wide variety of people, including: an Italian actress selling the bones in a supermarket promotion, a Spanish woman who dines on its steaks, a little girl in France who imagines a world where animals are much larger than humans, and a taxidermist whose wife is simultaneously giving birth to quintuplets.

Top Critics Reviews

fresh:
Despite its fleshy title, Gleize's film is a feast for the mind.
– Marta Barber,
Miami Herald,
16 Jan 2004
fresh:
Carnage has some narrative messiness. But the beautiful thing here - besides Gleize's fabulous eye - is that not a single one of her solutions for the healing that takes place in her characters' lives is predictable.
– Lisa Kennedy,
Denver Post,
8 Jan 2004
rotten:
The sort of film whose makers would be pleased to hear it called 'unclassifiable.' A more accurate description is 'unfathomable.'
– Colin Covert,
Minneapolis Star Tribune,
8 Jan 2004
fresh:
Confidently directed and tightly constructed, Carnage announces the presence of a fresh, powerful directorial mind with each frame.
– Robert K. Elder,
Chicago Tribune,
11 Dec 2003
fresh:
With Carnage, a pungent tale of love and sacrifice, French filmmaker Delphine Gleize has fashioned a modest epic about our ridiculous human comedy.
– Manohla Dargis,
Los Angeles Times,
13 Nov 2003
