388 Arletta Avenue manages to use the terrorized-couple genre to provide a timely commentary on supposedly safe homes and distant wars.
Overview
A young couple find themselves in an unnerving situation with a mysterious stalker.

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes
Top critics, in their words
The visuals in Randall Cole's paranoia chiller 388 Arletta Avenue evoke Michael Haneke's Cache and Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window in the way they make domesticity seem terrifying.
There's little new: the intimidation techniques (pet abduction, home invasion) feel cliched and the film trundles towards an unenlightening conclusion.
